The overall goal of our practice is to

exercise and re-educate our body into

healthy alignment and movement patterns.

Devised by the late Joseph Pilates (1883-1967), the Pilates system is a series of exercises performed on the Mat and Reformer that can be linked together by transitional movements to create a flowing sequence.  

 

This is complimented and supported by the studio apparatus which adds a further repertoire of exercises intended to address the individual needs of the body.   

It’s a full and expansive whole body exercise system.  Nothing is left out!

During his lifetime Pilates called his system ‘Contrology’ and at it’s core was the idea of integrating whole body movement with mindfulness and breath.
